Reviews Overview

Most Liked

Customers rave about the crispy, light batter on fish, be it halibut or haddock. Many appreciate the generous portion sizes, especially when it comes to the hand-cut fries that accompany each dish. The nostalgic presentation, wrapped in ‘news print,’ adds a charming British touch that many diners adore. Fast service even during peak hours keeps guests coming back for more. Additionally, the family-owned charm infuses a personal touch into every dish served, making patrons feel right at home.

Most Disliked

Some diners wish for a broader variety of sides beyond fries and onion rings. A handful of reviews mention occasional waits during peak hours, particularly on Friday nights. While the restaurant’s cozy vibe appeals to many, others find it can get a bit cramped during busy times. A few guests mention that dinner hours can lead to the fish not being as fresh towards closing time. The lack of extensive vegetarian options has also come up in conversations.

Came here by fluke as my wife found it on Reddit. We called and were so happy that they have non beer battered fish. Coming in at 6:15 ish we didn’t expect to get the freshest food as they close at 7:30. But oh boy were we shocked. The food came out within 15 minutes of ordering and it was amazing. I had the halibut and wife had the haddock, both were amazing but my absolute fave were the fries. Not only do they give a generous amount, but the fries are actually good. I recommend anyone looking for good fish and chips to come and try them out. They’re a small family owned restaurant on Lebovic, south of D spot, and have amazing food.

Reddit brought me to this place as one of the best. They didn’t disappoint. Server was fantastic, fish was nicely done in a light airy batter and fries were great. The nod to the iconic UK way of serving by layering the plate with the ‘news print’ was such a clever detail! Restrooms large and clean. Parking easy. 10/10 experience. Glad to share my findings!

The restaurant is nice and casual dinning in… Great place to dine with family and friends. It’s actually my first here as I heard a lot of good things about it. I ordered their Halibut and Chips with a side of gravy. It was an amazingly delicious meal.

I ordered the cod fish and chips with gravy. The fish was a big piece. Cooked perfectly. Most places fish is very oily. But not here. I will be coming back soon

Consistently good. Number 1 fish and chips in Toronto. Very surprised with this little Gem. I have always seen this place but just randomly decided to go there. Excellent Fish and chips! Batter is almost like tempura, it's so delicious. Fries are hand cut.,

Now this is what a fish and chips meal should be about. The portion size is what it should be. The fries were hand cut, fresh and very tasty. The batter on the haddock was a great portion to fish ratio, flaky but not greasy, so too was the halibut. Surprisingly we were the only ones there at the time. Sophie the owner was extremely friendly, engaging and helpful. Overall good price and service for what we got. Definitely will return.

More people need to hear about this place! I found it thanks to Reddit. The menu is very simple which is the best part. Love places that keep it simple. The fries are hand cut and thankfully not the Costco ones that are served in every restaurant these days. The fish batter is crispy and not greasy at all. There were a few tables occupied and we got the food in 15 mins.
